Mitra Estates Welfare Association (MEWA) is a civil society organization, formed in the year 2006 registered under THE WEST BENGAL SOCIETIES REGISTRATION ACT, 1961.

MEWA is devoted to addressing the core issues directly related to the real term sustainable socio-economic development of India.

MEWA has been founded by Surajit Mitra who has done his Masters from the London School of Economics and Social Sciences, UK and thereafter from Stanford University, USA.

He has attended South Point High School and St.Xavier’s College, Kolkata respectively, and thereafter graduating in Commerce with Honours from The Calcutta University. 

He has lent his service to various International Banks and other Corporate Houses in his professional career and has travelled extensively which paved way to only enriching his experiences with variety and difference. He has the uncanny knack of thinking differently and providing out-of-the-box solutions to problems with tremendous innovative skill. He loves to take on new challenges, and working on unchartered principles and territories are his innate characteristics.
